BRIEF HISTORY:
After receiving a land grant in 1803 in what is now Clinton, LA, Jeremiah Day of Columbia County, Georgia, built a four-room cabin, the original part of the Hubbs House. Joe Hubbs, Sherrif of East Feliciana Parish and wife purchased the land house from Daniel J. Wedge in 1917. The first addition was a wing that includes the dressing room and bathroom today. The room closest to the rear driveway was a kitchen. The foundation of the brick chimney remains on the exterior South side.
