Many of you are aware of my deep appreciation for our Louisiana native Irises and my dream that someday the banks of the Bayou Teche will be shored up by our Giant Blue Iris, aka Big Blue (Iris giganticaerulea), Louisiana's official state wildflower.

We started planting just a couple years ago and I hope you’ll come celebrate with us and enjoy supporting this wonderful beautification effort. Native Irises shore up our waterways - slowing wetlands loss.
